Cartier
The House of Cartier, one of the world's leading luxury goods companies, was founded in 1847, and has long been identified with quality, prestige and history. The final luster given to any Cartier object, whether it is jewelry or a watch or a piece of eyewear, is of pivotal importance. As a precious object, the markings on any Cartier piece are of great importance in terms of authenticity. Every pair of Cartier eyewear is marked with the following information: Cartier signatures, individual identification number, mark of French origin, frame and temple sizes, and the Master's Hallmark for metal pieces. All Cartier frames are created by Cartier's internal design studio and developed in Cartier's own factory in Joinville-le-Pont, France, considered the most state-of-art and sophisticated of its kind.
